Bad Luck Month

So... this was not the worst month ever, I have certainly had worse, quite frequently in fact, but I think I had the most bad luck I have ever had. Of course there was good luck mixed in with the bad. I can't help but feel that this month was some sort of test, and I am now waiting for the results.

Driving home from work one night, one of the few times ever that I have forgotten my cell phone at home, I got a flat tire. A soda, some Reeses, a milkshake, and several payphone calls later, Rosbert rescued me. My car was towed. The next day the place replacing my tire had a power outage and they were sitting there in rather hot (temperaturewise) confusion, when I arrived. The next day I shelled out a little over a hundred bucks (a lot when you make about 200 a week) and had a new tire. Rosbert adopted a very adorable but skittish cat, and then left town.

For the next few days the cat would not eat, not to mention she found more hiding places than I though imaginable in our humble abode. To make matters worse I woke up the next day violently ill. I was in the bathroom most of the morning, but for some reason I decided I needed to go to work anyways. On my way to work my car stops working, it was overheated. So I call in and say I am going to be late, and add more coolant to my fine little automobile. I make it to work an hour later. I work for eight hours with the hugest migraine I have ever had, and thinking the whole time I am going to puke at any second. The drive home with the bright lights, and the motion, was absolute torture. I arrive home only to puke all over my steering wheel, and consequently my face, windshield, and work clothes. I have to work the next day so I go in and do laundry, while still feeling like death has finally come. Luckily the next day I feel pretty much all the way better, though I still can't manage to keep any food down (48 hours without food), and I still can't manage to get Bob's cat to eat more than a few nibbles of tuna.

That night, after work, Arlo and Fro show up at my house around 1 in the am, after calling sometime that evening to let me know. This was a pleasant surprise. However, this turns into a small gathering of loud friends at my apartment and results in no sleep for Hope that night, not to mention far-too-drunk half-naked friend who seems very distraught about many things and is crying/opening up to/hugging/kissing Hope/ telling Hope that she hates her. I finally slept from 8am-10am before heading off to work again. On the plus side, Fro stays for a week, and Bob's cat comes out from hiding and starts eating that day.

The following night, Hope is driving home from work, and excited because Bob is going to be back in town within the hour, and her car breaks down on the highway. Rosbert rescues her again, and her car is towed again. The next day is sunday and the place the car was towed to isnt open. Several days later the car place finally gets around to looking at Hope's car only to tell her it's engine is a fancy boat anchor now, and there is no point fixing it. Hope spends the next few weeks desperately trying to find a car in between working full time, trying to enjoy Fro while he was here. Fro did help her make avocado icecream which was quite delicious!!!!

Finally Hope gets a car only to realize her packet for school is due in less than a week.

All this to say. There are many severals of you I have wanted to talk to this month, but I have not managed. I am very sorry. It's just been one of those months.
